My Bullet Journal

Hey chums!
So today I wanted to share with you my bullet journal! I have only recently created one for the upcoming uni year, to help organise my useless self. A Bullet journal is a great way to stay creative and organised. What I love about my bullet journal instead of a regular journal is the fact you can put what you want where you want! you can be as minimalist or creative as you want, it really does not matter, whatever suites you.
So I hope this blog post helps inspire you to get yourself together, be creative and have an easy time back at school, college or uni, or even just every day adult life!
I also have a flip through video of bigger details over on my youtube channel. Its quite an arty video and I really enjoyed editing it. So please go and watch, and why not subscribe and comment etc whilst you're there! Oh and please let me know if you came from my blog!!

My Skin Care Routine

Hey Chums! So today I wanted to share with you my everyday skin care routine. This is tried and tested, and I have gone through many, and I mean MANY, products to try and make my face fab. I dry to normal skin, mainly dry. I found Lush products work best for me, mainly because my skin is SO fricking sensitive anything with unnecessary chemicals in will destroy my skin. I take my make up off with Micellar water, I use Garnier oil infused cleansing water, for dry and sensitive skin(You can get this in most stores may it be Boots or Asda) This stuff is a dream! not to photograph though, hence no photographic evidence.
First I use Lushs ''Let The Good Times Roll''. Its packed full of cinnamon which really freshens up the skin, the maize flour and polenta creates small grains which gently scrub the skin. Unlike ''Angels on bare skin'' which is raved about endlessly, using this my skin feels SO fresh afterwards and I have seen a real difference in the state of my skin since using it.
As a Toner I use 'Breath of Fresh Air'. I was recommended this by the lady in the shop and have repurchased it multiple times! It is so refreshing, and really helps to even my skin tone and give it a wee bit more moisture.
Every couple of days, after scrubbing I will use a thin layer of pure virgin coconut oil (I picked this one up in my local pharmacy, and also use it as a hair mask). I use this when my skin is feeling particularly dry and in need of some loving. It goes without saying my skin soaks this up like a sock!

Celestial was my first Facial moisturiser I used from Lush, a thick mixture which is really suited to dry skin. I use this now as a night moisturiser, Its just so thick I cannot stand using it before my make up as my face feels really cakey.

I know use 'Imperials' in the morning. It was a toy up between this, and skin drink. However, I CANNOT stand the smell of skin drink, It smells like I'm rubbing compost on my face. Imperials on the overhand is a thinner mixture than my previous one, and my skin LOVES it. It gives moisture like a dream, without being too thick and clogging either.

I also use sweet Almond oil under my eyes, morning and night. This helps to reduce dark circles. I haven't been using it that long but can already say I've seen a difference! Its cheap and easy and you only need the tiniest amount.

Well There you have it! My skin routine, obviously this will not work for everyone. Each skin type is individual, and people will find they prefer one product to another. However I highly recommend all of these products, and any lush skin care! If you're unsure of what products may suite you, the people in the store are always lovely and on hand to help, but if you find them a tiny bit over whelming like I sometimes do, the website is also packed with great information!

A Day in the Botanical Gardens

After a few stressed out, anxiety filled days I needed some time out. Somewhere peaceful, somewhere beautiful. I've lived in Edinburgh for the past year now, and the Royal Botanical Gardens soon became my happy place here (Central park being my elsewhere one). Me and Finlay decided to take a picnic, my camera and ourselfs down to the botanics some chill time.

Me and Finlay have visited the botanics four or five times now, Its our favourite place to go for some quiet time, Its beautiful, massive and full of friendly faces! We like to pick a new spot every time, as the gardens are so large there's plenty to explore. I like to find spots secluded from lots of people, just to really have some down time. After marching through secret paths looking for just the perfect spot, we soon saw camp. Through paths of flowers and under a giant tree, it was nothing but inviting.

We pulled out the picnic blanket (well £5 primark throw) and settled down with our picnic.

I've taken to giving Finlay my camera and begging for him to take cute candids of me.. we're working on it.

After a while, we decided to go for another walk and relocate. The reason for this, Honestly? we both just needed a wee and wanted to go find a pokestop to put a lure on. Bloody Pokemon.

After relocating and finding another quiet spot, we set up our lure and made camp for a wee while. Days like this are my favourite, nothing to worry about. Just happiness, food, and my favourite. I find getting out in the fresh air is a great way to cleanse myself of any bad mood. Moving up to Scotland and into the city has been one of the best decisions I have EVER made, but sometimes the busy, loud, full on atmosphere can be over whelming, but that's why I love Edinburgh, alot of cities you'd have to get out of for quiet time, but in Edinburgh there are SO many parks and gardens located all over the city. Perfect for days like this.

Short and sweet. I Just wanted to share with you this day, it truly has been one of my favourite.
But can we just appreciate the fact its Friday. I have a blog post up at a normal time, and we are finally getting organised! Be sure to check out my other posts if you haven't already. This blog things pretty fab ay!

Baking with Lottie: Caramel Popcorn Cookies

So, Remember that time I said I'd have a blog post up Monday for definite.
Yeah, Fucked that up didn't I..
but none the less, It's Wednesday and we're really going to kick start this shite, originally I was going to do a post about my new flat. A post that included my favourite home decor Items, but the flat isn't quite up to scratch yet, so thought I'd save that for next week (Hence the no post on Monday, again, my bad).
Being creative is always something I strive in, well or at least tried. Baking is one of the activities with endless possibilities, you can really let your mind run. Today I felt like baking, and with little to no 'traditional' ingredients for in the cookies, I started to wonder what alternatives I could create. Having never tried making popcorn Cookies before I thought 'why not' and began planning out my recipes. I found a simple chocolate chip recipe from Nigella and simply added popcorn. I will give you a step by step guide to how I achieved these cookies, along side with some pictures I took, did I mention I am currently doing a degree in photography? So even if you aren't interested so much in the recipe, I hope you enjoy the images included.
Lets get started ay,
For this recipe you will need:

150g Unsalted butter
100g Caster Sugar
120g Light brown Sugar ( I only had dark, oops)
300g Plain Flour
1 Teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla extract
Popcorn (I used Sweet and salty)
1 Bag of chocolate ( I used Chocolate buttons)
(Also preheat your oven on 170c or Gas mark 3/4)

Firstly, melt the butter before mixing it with both types of sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Next add the vanilla extract, egg and egg yolk.

and then the flour and bicarbonate of soda

And then the chocolate (aware I left this out in the flat lay, oops, again)
and the popcorn,  I feel its important to mention at this point,
PUT WHATEVER YOU WANT IN. EXPERIMENT. HAVE FUN. BE CREATIVE.

Mix all your extras until  you get something like this..

After this line a baking tray with baking paper, grab a handful of cookie dough and squish it into a round ball. Make sure you keep them well spread out from each other as they do grow, A LOT

Place them into your preheated oven for around 15 to 20 minutes, Mine took nearer 20 on a Gas mark of 4.

I used this time to clean up my mess, and my goodness was there a lot of it!
Abusing this space for thought, I decided I didn't want to leave it there, and wanted to make some homemade caramel to drizzle my cookies in, and I must say, this was not a bad idea!
This is a really easy recipe that I was taught some time ago
So, for this you will need ;

Wack it all into a sauce pan, and on a medium to high heat, heat it through until all the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is thick and creamy.

I mixed constantly for the first few minutes to avoid the mixture burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan. After this I left the mixture to sit for 10 to 15 seconds intervals before mixing it again, this helps it all thicken up!

I then took the now cooled cookies, and drizzled the warm caramel on top.

And well, that's that! SO easy, SO simple and SO yummy.
I hope this post hasn't made you too hungry, or want to break that diet by too much.. but hey, everybody deserves a treat! Again, apolagies for the lack of post on Monday, I am going to try my hardest to kick my bum into gear from now on. Let me know if you use this recipe (I really recommend you do) I'd love to know what you think, or any alterations you may try.
